Trusting God over Consolation

Lord, when I am troubled, I look all around me for consolation from friends and family. I long for comforting words and advice, reassurance and encouragement that everything is going to be ok. But I can never get enough—I go from person to person to get this support over and over again. I know that this never fills me up because such comfort is false. It is not truly what I need. It is your consolation and assurance that I need. But I have such a difficult time abandoning myself to you. Forgive me for this. Help me to put my trust in you and not the temporary consolation that I experience from such earthly comforts. Show me the way, Lord. Show me the way.
