We, too, can get a call from the Lord
Ever feel like you’re waiting for a literal neon sign from God to tell you what’s next? We see these high-drama moments in the Bible—like Samuel hearing a mysterious voice in the middle of the night, or St. Paul getting knocked off his horse by a blinding, heavenly spotlight. It’s total “movie trailer” energy!
But for most of us, God’s “call” doesn’t come with a special effects budget. It’s much more about the vibe and the inner tug on your heart.
The Subtle “Click”
The Book of Hebrews (12:18-19) tells us that sometimes the call is “nothing known to the senses.” There are no earthquakes, no trumpet blasts, and no angels showing up in your living room. Instead, it’s that sudden, beautiful moment of clarity.
You’re just going about your day when—boom—you suddenly just know. You visualize a path that feels undeniably right. It might be a brand-new adventure or a return to a dream you tucked away years ago. It’s not a loud voice; it’s a deep, “soul-level” realization that changes your whole trajectory.
The Power of the Place
Think about the Porziuncola—that tiny, ancient chapel St. Francis loved in Assisi. It’s not a massive, cold cathedral; it’s a small, sacred space that has been a “reset button” for millions of people.
- It’s a place of forgiveness and fresh starts.
- People walk in feeling heavy and walk out with a new direction.
- It’s about that electric feeling of renewal and realizing you are part of something much bigger.

The Best Part? The Joy.
When you finally catch that “call” and align your life with Jesus’s mission, something amazing happens. You don’t just get a “to-do” list; you get joy. It’s the kind of deep-down, contagious happiness that a night out or a new purchase just can’t touch. It’s about living your most God-given, vibrant life—the one you were undoubtedly made for to help build God’s kingdom and enjoy living in it!
