Joining Together and with God in this Season of Grace

In today’s reflection, Fr. Jim Strommer, CP, reminds us that while personal prayer is vital, our faith is never meant to be lived in isolation. Jesus gathers people into communion, teaching us that prayer draws us not only closer to God but closer to one another.

The example of Jesus makes it clear that faith is not a private affair. We are meant for communion. So also, Lent is not to be just our secret time with God. We are invited as a community to pray with and for one another as we journey together.

A daily practice for many of us is the Divine Office, or “The Prayer of the Church.” Even if you pray it alone, remember it is not just personal prayer.

Connect in The Spirit with all of God’s people now and forever who have suffered exile, cried out in lament or danced with joy. But pray especially with those who have no voice of their own.

We join with them and God joins with us in this season of grace.
