“Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or naked…?” And Jesus responds, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do to me.”

“Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or naked…?” And Jesus responds, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do to me.”

(Biblia Dios habla hoy)

We Catholics consider yesterday’s Feast of Pentecost the “birth” of the Church, so today (Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church), Mary’s “motherhood” is not some vague devotion, but a real dimension of Church life.

In our first reading, St. Peter thunders, “Clothe yourselves in heartfelt humility!”

"Let it be done unto me according to your word."

Fish are caught against their will and violently pulled from the sea. People are caught by uncovering the deep desires of their hearts.

Lately, however, I am drawn to sacred memories of the Incarnation that pull me deeper.
