Prayer of Thanksgiving
Dear Lord,
We gather in gratitude and thank you for the food on this table, for the hands that prepared it, for our Earth that provided it.
We remember those not at our table, those who suffer or are alone. Hold them close and help us care for them.
Thank you for community, for family, friends and all who have shown us kindness. Thank you for for moments of laughter and the comfort of belonging.
Give us grateful hearts that notice your gifts without taking them for granted.
Teach us to live with humility and joy, to share what we have, to welcome others, to forgive quickly, to serve gladly.
May we see you in the poor, the lonely, the displaced and all who carry heavy burdens.
Let gratitude shape who we are when we leave this table, so our thanks becomes generosity and our blessings become blessings for others.
May our thankfulness grow into compassion that serves, justice that heals and hospitality that welcomes.
Amen.
