Welcome

Joe Barbieri 2015_0Letter from the Director

Welcome! I am so glad you found our web page.

The motto attached to Holy Name Passionist Retreat Center is: “where miracles happen.” It is more, much more than a catch phrase. It expresses a reality and a truth in the lives of the countless persons who have passed through here.

As the Retreat Director of this very special place, I am a privileged firsthand witness to countless testimonials – from both the Catholic and 12 Step retreats – which sound like: “this is such a special place”; “I owe my life to what happened here”; “as soon as I drive onto the parking lot I feel the weight of the world lift off my shoulders”; “I am so grateful for this place”; “miracles really do happen here”; “I am tired of running away from the demons in my life, I have finally found a place of peace and love.”

We can say about a retreat what a very wise man said about the Lord’s Day: “Six days a week we wrestle with the world, wringing profit from the earth; on the Sabbath we especially care for the seed of eternity planted in the soul. The world has our hands, but our soul belongs to Someone Else. Six days a week we seek to dominate the world; on the seventh day we try to dominate the self” and more importantly, I would add, we encounter our God.

Continue to browse our pages and see which retreat best fits your schedule. You will be most welcome.

Fr. Joseph Barbieri, CP
Director of Retreats
