Dear Passionist Family,
As a Passionist priest, I have presided over many funerals.
No matter what the situation, whether the deceased was young or elderly, whether the death was sudden or expected after a long illness, the loss of a loved one still hurts. We have faith, that in Jesus Christ, who died for us on the Cross and rose again, that death does not have the last word, but resurrection, hope and love do.
When a day such as All Souls’ Day comes around every year, we remember how precious a loved one’s life was, and still is, to us. In Jesus, death does not have the power to cut us off from the love of God. Neither does it have the power to cut us off from each other. In God’s love, we are still connected to the ones who have gone before us.
Please click here to send us the names of those who are special to you. We Passionists will honor and celebrate their lives and the relationships you share with them. The names and intentions you send will be remembered in a special way this November.
We invite you to consider a gift to our Passionist communities and ministries, as we continue to proclaim the Passion of Jesus as the greatest sign of God’s love, and the sign of hope that leads to Resurrection.
Thank you for being a part of our Passionist Family. We hold up all our loved ones, living and deceased, in prayer to our loving God. May the God of love keep us connected to each other and to all our loved ones, and bring us to everlasting life!
In Christ Crucified,
Fr. Mike Higgins, C.P.
