A Passionist Prayer
October 21, 2019
from St. Paul of the Cross
"When temptations come, you will always be victorious if you trust the grace of God. God permits such temptations so that your soul may humble itself and learn never to rely on your own resources, but only on him."
Lord, I fear my own weaknesses. I am bombarded with temptations great and small in all aspects of my day—temptations that seem like easy answers to the difficulties of my day but that I know will lead me away from you. I know that temptations are a part of this life’s journey. I tend to look only to myself in facing these difficult choices and often, my strength fails me. Help me to put my full faith and trust in you to keep my inner peace in the face of such challenges. Let me remember that there is no temptation that I cannot resist with your grace.

the Neighborhood Association were in attendance. We are grateful for the warm welcome and support we have received from our friends and neighbors. A special shout out to event sponsors: Davenport and Harris Funeral Home, Elmwood Shell Service, Rocky Heights Printing Company (see photo on right of our new sign), Titusville Development Corporation, Commissioner Sheila Tyson, Councilor Crystal Smitherman, Senator Roger Smitherman, Vincent Perry, Residents and Neighborhood Association Officers, and our talented Reception Planning Committee. We are especially grateful to Dianne Marie Mills, Poet; Andrea Billingsley Whitfield, Ms. Senior Titusville; and Deborah Carson, Mistress of Ceremony. In the words of Ms. Mills, "This is it!"
