Dear Friend of the Passionists,
As we move through the season of Lent and approach Easter, we are reminded that Resurrection always follows crucifixion. Whatever turmoil may be going on in our society or in our individual lives, we know the promise of Easter to be true!
In the Gospel reading for the Easter Vigil coming up, three women come to Jesus’ tomb, only to find that He is not there! Instead, they find “two men in dazzling garments” who say to them, “Why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified, and rise on the third day.” And then St. Luke tells us that the women “remembered his words.” (Luke 24: 4-8, NABRE)
Perhaps there are people in your life who need to remember that Easter is real and there is a reason to hope. We Passionists have created two beautiful Easter e-cards which proclaim the joy and hope of Easter! We invite you to send to them to all those you hold dear. Know that your loved ones will be remembered in the special Easter Novena of Masses celebrated by our Passionist community.
As you send the cards, please consider making a donation to support our Passionist ministries. Although we promote the memory of the Passion of Jesus, we do so with the joy of knowing God’s love and the vindication of Jesus’ sacrifice on Easter Sunday. Your generosity helps us remind people of God’s love for all.
May God bless you and yours this Easter! Please continue to pray for us as we pray for you. May we live in the hope and joy and truth of Easter!
Alleluia in the Risen Jesus,
Fr. Michael Higgins, C.P.
