Third Station: Jesus Falls the First Time

The Way of the Cross, Prayed in honor of the way of our martyrs in the Middle East:

Please scroll down for Spanish and Arabic Translations

3-Third Station3rd Station: Jesus Falls the First Time

Call: We adore you, O, Christ, and we bless you.

Response: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.

“I rock with grief; I groan at the uproar of the enemy, the clamor of the wicked. They heap trouble upon me, savagely accuse me. My heart pounds within me; death’s terrors fall upon me.” Psalm 55:3-5.

Meditation prayer:

Lord, Jesus, I know that the cross you carried was heavy because of my sin and all the sin of the world. How I understand this weight a little better now in the context of the suffering brought upon the martyrs of today in Iraq and the Middle East; everywhere cruelty and hatred rise up. You fell with the weight of the cross, for you were fully human and you understood the pain endured by your brothers and sisters. They are mine too, and I cry out to you for justice. “At dusk, dawn, and noon I will grieve and complain, and my prayer will be heard” Psalm 55:18. May the weight of my sin not cause others to fall. Bless my heart with your understanding so that I will be your agent of redemption. Lord, God, redeem the world.

Guía: Te adoramos, oh Cristo, y te bendecimos.
