Vocations in General
Oh God,
You have chosen the apostles
to make disciples of all nations
and by baptism and confirmation
have called all of us
to build up Your Holy Church.
We earnestly implore You
to choose from among us, Your children,
many priests, brothers and sisters
who will love you with their whole heart
and will gladly spend their entire lives
to make You known and loved by all.
Amen.
Passionist Vocations
Heavenly Father,
You inspired St. Paul of the Cross to gather companions
to keep alive in the Church and the world
the memory of your Son’s Passion.
This greatest manifestation of your love for us
has set so many hearts on fire
and among them have called those to follow in the footsteps of Paul of the Cross
through a life of special consecration.
Keep us aware of the importance of this charism
within the Church
and its relevance for our world today.
Help us keep alive the fire of your love in our lives
and move others to join this Community in the Church
so that they may be able to take the gospel of the Passion
to every corner of the world,
reaching out to all those who are suffering
and enkindling in the hearts of all,
the immense love of Jesus Crucified.
Amen.

Morning Offering
Lord, here I am in Your Presence.
I am entirely Yours.
I adore You.
I offer You my whole heart.
I wish only to do Your will.
I offer You all my efforts
I offer You all my sufferings.
I offer You this day with all that it brings.
I offer them now,
but especially in the Eucharist,
in union with Your Sacrifice, on the Cross,
and in union with all those
who offer themselves to You
for the Salvation of the World.
Amen.
“In this we know what love is: in that he died for us. We too should lay down our life for one another” (1 John 3:16)

Prayer of St Francis
Lord,
Make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
~Traditional Prayer
A Prayer for our Earth, Pope Francis
All-powerful God,
you are present in the whole universe
and in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness
all that exists.
Pour out upon us the power of your love,
that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with peace, that we may live
as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor,
help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth,
so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives,
that we my protect the world and not prey on it,
that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction.
Touch the hearts
of those who look only for gain
at the expense of the poor and the earth.
Teach us to discover the worth of each thing,
to be filled with awe and contemplation,
to recognize that we are profoundly united
with every creature
as we journey toward your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle
for justice, love and peace.
~Pope Francis, Laudato Si’
Stabat Mater +
At the Cross her Station Keeping (Stabat Mater)
At the Cross her station keeping,
stood the mournful Mother weeping,
close to Jesus to the last.
Through her heart,
His sorrow sharing,
all His bitter anguish bearing,
now at length the sword has passed.
O how sad and sore distressed
was that Mother, highly blest,
of the sole-begotten One.
Christ above in torment hangs,
she beneath beholds the pangs
of her dying glorious Son.
Is there one who would not weep,
whelmed in miseries so deep,
Christ’s dear Mother to behold?
Can the human heart refrain
from partaking in her pain,
in that Mother’s pain untold?
Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,
she beheld her tender Child
All with bloody scourges rent:
For the sins of His own nation,
saw Him hang in desolation,
Till His spirit forth He sent.
O thou Mother! fount of love!
Touch my spirit from above,
make my heart with thine accord:
Make me feel as thou hast felt;
make my soul to glow and melt
with the love of Christ my Lord.
Holy Mother! pierce me through,
in my heart each wound renew
of my Savior crucified:
Let me share with thee His pain,
who for all my sins was slain,
who for me in torments died.
Let me mingle tears with thee,
mourning Him who mourned for me,
all the days that I may live.
